Sylvan elves and humans have been known to grow strong bonds with the woodland creatures that mingle with them, and a few blessed individuals are actually able to commune and bond with these creatures. The beastmaster represents the best of these individuals, having been able to bond to such a close level that they actually assume some of the abilities of these animals.
Beastmasters rely on natural cunning and the close bonds they form with their animal companions to further their own cause or the cause of their gods. They tend to shun civilization and feel truly comfortable in the woodlands that contain them.
